Pestana Palms - Madeira

Postby Gail » Thu 02 Mar, 2006 10:48 pm

Hi there,
I'm thinking of buying a week at this resort to cede into points. Does anyone own there already?
Any advice would be welcome.
Thanks
Gail

Is this the resort that was once called Pestano Palms?

If so, when we stayed there a few years ago we were offered available apartments there. However, we found that unlike all others we own that are effectively forever, these only had about 15 years on them and the maintenance at the time also seemed a little on the high side compared to what we paid in our reosrts in Scotland and Tenerife.

Don't know if this helps.

Sorry - I meant it was called Carlton Palms at the time I stayed there, but I believe it was owned by the Pestano Group.

Thanks for that. I don't know how long the ownership is for. I will ask.
They reckon this year's maintenance was £162 for a 1 bedroom unit. Seems very reasonable to me. Its worth 64500 points.
I think it did used to be called Carlton Palms and has been taken over by or joined the Pestana group who run alot of the Madeira timeshares.

Regards
Gail

The maintenance in Madeira (certainly the pestana resorts) is always very low.I own 2 weeks at the village and love it.The Palms is in the Lido area, down a short, but steepish hill near a supermarket, restaurants etc and right near the seafront.
madeira is one of my favourite destinations.Very safe, clean and friendly.
