If you have a booking (or offer of an exchange) for a resort that is not reviewed on the MORPS database yet? Then ask in here!

DON'T FORGET - when you get home, send us a review!

We did suggest a quick review form to complete - giving grades for various features of resort.

Would it be worth placing a link on here to the Resort Review form on the main site?

If we accept reviews HERE, then all users of the Forum would get to post them. However, only paid-up members of MORPS get access to the reviews to READ them.

What do people think?

The question is are we going to keep resort reviews only available to be seen by Morps members?. I think this may be a good idea because if we let everybody see them then what is the the incentive to join Morps.

Personally, I think the reviews are a huge resource. When you look at the list of resorts, and the detail contained on many reviews, it makes it so easy to avoid inappropriate resorts for holidays, and select the really good resorts!

I think that since the costs of the website and so on are covered by the (paltry, extremely good value-for-money) MORPS membership fee, then we should do what TUG and others do and only share these reviews with paying members.

I am in favour of Resort Reviews being available to paying members only.

resort reviews

Postby davidjulia » Sun 26 Feb, 2006 5:59 pm

I totally agree that reviews should be available to members only. If you can afford the ever increasingly inflated charges by RCI then the Morps membership is a mere drop in the ocean by comparison.
The first hand experiences from members make for interesting reading and made me think twice about certain resorts. It is important that we get as many reviews as possible even if they are about the same resort. I read one review on Las Callas, Lanzatote and didnt think that we had been to the same place! It is worth remembering that reviews are written by individuals with a wide range of expectations and this will influence their 'holiday happiness'.
The resort details that are found on the RCI website are frequently misleading with incorrect/out of date details. It is worth looking for more info at the individual resorts own website.

reveiw Sunset Beach Club Benalmadena

Postby syd312r » Wed 28 Jun, 2006 8:31 pm

Hello, I'm a new member, just seen highlighted in red 'Dont forget to send a reveiw when you get home' so here goes.
Sunset Beach Club Benalmadena is our home resort, we arrived home last Thursday enjoyed it as the weather was fabulous, but we did have to request another room.
We did request top floor, but informed we can request but not a guarantee- basically I hate the sound of furniture being dragged across the room above. If you are ever allocated room 462 refuse it, noise amazing-yes I know the World Cup is on. But unfortunatley the bar was above room 462.
We were moved the following day.

I think this hotel is ideal for someone with children they are certainly looked after, the entertainment is geared towards them. They do have entertainment for the adults also.

The hotel is spotless we have no complaints about the cleanliness of it. I beleive the rooms are ideal for a couple with 1 child they have a seperate twin/double with sliding doors, plus a folding settee. I think 4 adults sharing would be a sqeeze to say the least. There is also a very small kitchenette, although tiny, it really does have everything you would need.

If you manage to get a sea veiw it really is brilliant even a room at the side has a sea veiw. The beach is more sandy/crushed shells so its ideal to have beach shoes. Very close just a matter of going through the gate with your pass and your there.
Hotel is not in the centre of things but you can certainly walk to the bars, and the harbour is a lovely stroll along the prom.
I have lots of photos taken inside and outside the hotel so if anyone thinking of going email me.

On another note can anyone tell me about Diversified. We have points bought a couple of years ago at Sunset and to be honest I really dont understand it at all. My daughter went along to one of the chats as she was on a cheapy promaotional week. They are trying to get her interested in this Diversified
Any advice would be really appreciated

Diversified Resorts

Postby Dave C » Thu 29 Jun, 2006 11:51 pm

Diversified Resorts are a marketing company. They are also based at my club ;Crown Resorts Marbella. They have done a fine job there selling the surplus inventory over the last 5 years. The owners commitee has renewed their contract I think for a further 5 years. They are RCI points vendors and this tends to be their main marketing product. My dealings with them have been good. They are above average for conversion costs to RCI points but include some extras like booking winter weeks with half points well in advance. You can always haggle and strike a good deal. They are selling low season weeks at Crown Resorts for £500, a bargain to get srarted in timeshare or add extra points value.
They have a website http://www.Diversifiedresorts.com

Hope this helps

Diversified info

Postby syd312r » Fri 30 Jun, 2006 12:26 am

Thank you Dave C, very new to this site so really pleased I had an email to let me know I had a reply.
Still trying to get my head around the points system feel sure I'm not using it correctly. Although I purchased almost 2 years ago, would you believe I'm still annoyed with myself for being so gullible and signing up.

Diversified approached my daughter last week at Sunset Beach and since returning home they have contacted her. Seems with Diversified although you purchase points you dont have to use them. You are given a password which enables you to go online and book holidays for £99 and £159. They told my daughter if she signs up they will allow us to use the password also.
Off hand not too sure how much they are quoting, but my advise to her has been do some homework.

Diversified Resorts

Postby Dave C » Fri 30 Jun, 2006 12:51 am

syd312r,

Basically what your daughter has been offered is a rental. I have arranged a few trips for friends to the Costa del Sol for £99. Usually out of season with most availabillity at Crown Resorts. It usually involves an hour presentation for timeshare and a look around the resorts but is not hard sell.

You sound a bit miffed about buying into points. If you did not own a timeshare to cede into the system already and baught just pure points it is the expensive option. RCI has the most flexable points system and reading all the stuff on the morps site will help you get the most out of it.

I have just come back from Anfi Beach Club in Gran Canaria. Its the top timeshare resort in Europe. Get booking and have some fun.

Thanks Dave C. Whats done is done I will make the most of it, sorry for the moan.

You mentioned in an earlier comment they are selling low season weeks at Crown Resorts for £500. Does this mean my daughter could purchase there and then they could be converted to points. Do you have any idea how many points this would convert to.

The £500 weeks are usually low season - can be worth as little as 12,000 points. You have to remember that the maintenance fee (which is fairly reasonable at Crown Resorts) is the same whether you have a winter week at 12,000 points or peak season at 60,000+

Hi, Dave C

I bought my first two weeks at Club Marbella as a resale from a friend, but ceded at the Club when it was CRI Points.

Should I be able to book £99 and £150 rentals for friends and family, too? If so, how?

Pat B

I have checked that the promotion visits to Crown Resorts ( and SunSet Beach) are still available.

e-mail Unihol@RETOES with your phone number and a Lady called Barbera will contact you.
